The Weekly GELT's TOP - July 12, 2014

Artists of the week : The VAMPS
What would seem more annoying than this spate of new boys bands hardly out from middle school so much it seems to stand backstage the only will of doing business with the teenagers whims. Things however have changed a lot since the advent of You Tube and the easiness to use it as a promotion tool by posting personal videos. It comes now back to internet users to make stars. The Vamps have been no exception to this new rule because it is well through YouTube that guitarists/singers Brad Simpson and James McVey decide to form a band in 2011 and write songs together. Thanks to the coming of drummer Tristan Oliver and bassist Connor Ball, The Vamps  have seen the day, soon supported by a party of addicted bobbysoxers.

The Vamps lack however neither temperament nor ambition, announcing from summer 2013 their first album release and a debut single Can We Dance which reaches # 3 in UK charts. Starts therefore through stacks of fangirling websites a  true competition with the grown-up One Direction, unleashing passions of starstrucks while comparison would prove, to say the least, rather  untimely as they are stylistically different. One Direction  now claims to be at a upper level than The Vamps, currently confined in a sour candy folk rock designed to season summertime teenage parties.
